Norwegische Berichte:
Norway's Under-20 women had a 3-3 draw against Chile today. Problems with jet-lag and a high air temperature meant that the girls were below par. More details tomorrow.
Norway's Under-20s suffered from the heat in their first match in Chile yesterday. "We played a good first half and scored two nice goals, but after half time we let Chile into the game. They soon reduced the lead and recovered some spirit. We lost the ball a lot and failed to win duels, but in the last quarter we got some control back and went 3-2 up", was the trainer's summary.
But just before the end, the hosts got a penalty and equalised. "It was a very cheap penalty and afterwards the Chile team admitted that they did not expect it to be given", said Jarl Torske.
The match was due to be played at 22.00 but changes in the plans meant that it was moved forward. The change from Norwegian winter to a 30-degree summer in Chile was tough for several of the players. "We were affected by jet lag and the heat and some players were affected worse than others", said Torske.
He was not totally happy with the arrangements so far. "There's a little way to go, both on regulations and general information, and we must pay some more attention to that. It is new for them and I am not complaining", said Torske. The aim of the trip is to gather experience before November's World Cup in Chile.
"Chile are trying to generate some interest round the tournament and today's match was seen by about 2000 spectators and also put on TV. We are having a good time and the experience we are gaining is excellent", said Torske.

Norwegische Berichte:
Jarl Torske was pleased with the team's contribution today even though they lost 2-1 to the USA in the Four Nations Tournament in Chile. He reckons the USA are the world's best at this level and today was Norway's first match against them.
"We went two goals down but came back and almost made it 2-2 at the end. I am very pleased that we showed good morale and a good performance against a team like the USA. We have showed in two games down here that we stand up well over 90 minutes", said the trainer.
On Monday the Under-20s played a draw against the hosts Chile. Even though a win has eluded them, Torske is positive about what the girls have shown on the pitch. "They have tried to set up their own attacks and taken the initiative in the right way. They haven't succeeded every time, but the will is there. Anyway it's a very good learning experience for the World Cup in November", said Torske.
As expected the USA game was a tough one. Norway were pressed at the back at went 2-0 down at half time. After a while they raised their game, but the Americans won deservedly at the end.
"The players admitted that they had a bit too much respect and were a bit like small girls at the start of the match, but we raised our game. The USA have good skills and we were a bit too small in duels. I am a realist and knew it would be tough, but the players and I are sitting with a relatively good feeling about the match", said the trainer.
"The match was played a little earlier in the day. It was definitely warm before the last stages of the match. But I don't think we handled that any worse than the USA", thought Torske.
On Friday England awaits in the final match. "It could be an open match. They will be a notch below the USA, amd we lost against them in the European Cup last year so we are looking for revenge", he said.
Chile are looking to produce interest for the autumn's tournament and the Chilean press gave the Norwegian girls plenty of coverage. "After the 3-3 match against Chile we got front-page coverage in the papers down here. It was described as a very good and entertaining match. There is a lot of interest round the training sessions and the matches. Today there were 1500 spectators and against Chile there were 2000".
The players think it is great that there is so much interest. "This is the first time the girls have been interviewed on the radio and had TV cameras shoved in their faces. One of the journalists down here asked if any of the girls could answer in English. It went very well", laughed Torske.
